Character: This leather is soft and spongy, a unique feel amongst shoe leathers. There is very little structure, but has a wonderful relaxed drape.  For shoes, the leather contracts quite a bit after the last is removed, so a very snug initial fit is best and most comfortable to allow these leathers to stretch as needed.

If looking to request this leather for Custom Leather shoes, this type of leather is best suited for parts of the shoe with no laces or closures.

Care: This is best cared for with a suede brush to brush any dirt off.  Over time, it will develop a patina and a good quality liquid saddlesoap can be used. Be sure to test a small area prior to using.

This leather is sourced from a family run company in Barcelona. All of their leather is tanned within Europe, using European steer, this particular one is tanned in Italy with strict European standards.

There are inherent variations in natural leathers, handmade manufacturing, and local sourcing.  Color and texture variations can vary within the same hide.  Different monitors can also display colors differently.  You may indicate any preferences in tone or texture in the Notes to Shoemaker section if you are looking for something specific so we can do our best to accomodate.

Character: This is one of our favorite leathers for our shoes.  It has an ideal thickness, pliability, and wax content perfect for shoes made with no stiffeners.  The wax content in darker colors can be augmented with more shoe wax to help with wet and cold weather.  Overall the leather has a nice relaxed vintage look.

Care: This is best conditioned with a good quality liquid saddlesoap. Darker colors can be conditioned or cleaned with a shoe wax as well. Be sure to test a small area prior to using.

This leather is tanned in The Netherlands using only steer from less than 50km away.  The tannery has set the standard for BAT (Best Available Technology) standards in the EU with 30% less water usage and no salinization of ground water.  They split the leather to return 60% of the hide to the food chain and use remaining fats to create biogas used to heat their facilities and production.
