The Mariyah can be custom made by selecting up to 2 leather options. The front can be made with any leather, while the back should be made with a leather that is soft and spongy.
This front leather is a full vegetable tanned leather making it firm and structured, but will soften wonderfully over time.
This strap leather is soft and spongy, a unique feel amongst shoe leathers. The leather contracts quite a bit after the shoe last is removed, so a very snug initial fit is best and most comfortable to allow these leathers to stretch as needed.
Care: This is best cared with a suede brush to brush any dirt off. Over time, it will develop a patina and a good quality liquid saddlesoap can be used. Be sure to test a small area prior to using.
Upper: This strap leather is sourced from a family run company in Barcelona. All of their leather is tanned within Europe, using European steer, this particular one is tanned in Italy and each piece is hand dyed individually in a time consuming process of hand layering dyes and waxes which gives it a rich and nuanced finish. They bear the Pelle Conciata al Vegetale in Toscana mark which are the strictest standards in traditional leather tanning and environmental standards. Their labor standards are also certified.

Soles: Our soles are sourced from Southern Spain. The town of Elda is world reknowned as the shoemaking capital of Spain. Our soles and heels are made of vegetable tanned leather tanned only in Spain or Italy. The heels are stacked leather or wood, no plastic core heels.
Makers: Our shoemakers are the heart of our work. Handlasted shoes require a deep understanding of the leather as it is being stretched and formed around the mold. Read more on our small and wonderful team of craftsmen here.

As a general rule, we recommend you go with the smaller of your size range. When in between sizes, go for the smaller size as our shoes have no stiffeners and are best and most comfortable with a snug fit.
Wide lasted shoes do not have a wider footprint, but instead increase the volume around the width and arch to the size larger while maintaining the length.
